Example post with requested character:
To be frank, Jannali was not excited about being left with this runty foal - after all, she had considered his state and already believed he would not make it through the night. But motherly instinct took over her, and with one tentative snuffle of the rag-tag bundle at her feet, she was sold to the idea of keeping him going through the night...and through many long years, she hoped. Her liquid eyes lifted to the moon, closed briefly, her belief in higher beings set in stone by a single prayer that she wanted soulfully to be answered.
Dawn was not far away, the horizon was now glowing faintly with the light of the sun that had roused its sleepy head and decided to come up for another day. Jannali focused on that as a sign that her now adopted son would pull through. She stood over the skinny creature protectively, looking down at him from time to time..unsure of how to proceed - she was, after all, worried about the poor fellow. She had never taken on a task of healing..and she realised that she had been wise not to do so! It was stressful work!
Still, she allowed herself small praise for having made the decision to care for him. Horses in this day and age did not have the compassion or decency, it seemed, to care for their young any more. Jannali sighed, a heavy sigh, full of the heavy-heartedness [is that even a word?] she felt for the way the world was turning..changing. It was not that she was so old as to have actually seen these changes occuring..though they had been happening for a while..just growing over time. Again, her gaze lit upon the foal at her feet - she would raise him to be one of the few left in this world that had a kind, decent heart in his chest. And hopefully he would do good in this world of deception and despair..and give hope back to those who needed it.
